Above is my attempt to tell a story in one sentence. Did you get it? Yeah, I’m not going to be wearing medium-size gym clothes anytime soon—or ever.
I feel like in writing anything—including e-mails and social media posts—we should get to the point in the first sentence and write less overall.
It’s not that we don’t read, it’s that we don’t read as much. (Hey, you’re reading this, so . . . ) And when we see a large block of text we either ignore it or skim through (not really retaining anything).
